Pinoy Big Brother begins its search for the next batch of housemates for Season 3 and Teen Edition 3.The first audition was held February 27, 9AM to 3PM at the PDA Concert Hall beside the PBB House.But as early as midnight of Friday, people had begun lining up in hopes that they be the first to do the audition process.Around 8 AM an estimated 10,000 applicants had flocked along Eugenio Lopez Drive, and the crowd caused heavy traffic around the ABS-CBN compound.The long line even snaked around Tomas Morato Avenue and other adjacent streets.Past auditions only generated 2,000 to 3,000 applicants.This only proved the huge following PBB has earned in almost four years.
The PBB Management was shocked with the number of applicants who showed up in the first day of auditions.In fear of causing more traffic and for the safety of the public, the PBB Management followed the advice of the ABS-CBN Security Department to stop the audition at around 3 PM.This angered many of the applicants who were still in line painstakingly waiting under the scorching summer heat for their turn.But Business Unit Head Laurenti Dyogi announced that there will be another audition in the days to come to accommodate the other aspiring housemates.
Different people from various walks of life came to try their luck with Kuya.Most of the applicants were young ones wanting to be the next teen housemate and follow the footsteps of Gerald Anderson, Matt Evans, Robi Domingo, and first Teen Big Winner Kim Chiu.ABS-CBN.com was there to cover the event and to try to understand why almost everyone just wants to be a housemate.A 16-year-old girl from Cubao revealed to ABS-CBN.com that she had been in line since 4 AM and only got inside the Concert Hall at around lunchtime.She said that she had long dreamed to become a star like her idol Kim.Meanwhile, a 14-year-old student from Cainta said that if ever she becomes a teen housemate, she would want to serve as a good role model to the youth.On the other hand, a 23-year-old guy from CaloocanCity auditioning for Season 3 confessed that he sees PBB as an opportunity to help his family.
